Dear Guests and Friends,
It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter to you, my dear guests who have become friends throughout the years. After 16 seasons of having people from all over the world stay in our home, my husband Lou and I have decided that 2012 will be our last season as innkeepers. As of September 17th of this year, the Auberge will no longer be as it is today. As some of you may know, I bought this house in 1996 and started the Auberge by the Sea B&B in 1997 as a means to support myself, and it has grown into a labor of love throughout the years. I met my husband here in 1999 and we had our daughter, Isabelle, in 2003. She has become very close to some of our favorite guests who treat her like one of their own. What a gift for her!
We have decided to transform our 2nd floor into one large apartment that we will rent out weekly during the summer starting in 2013. It will have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and will sleep 10 people maximum. All rentals will be handled by Dave Reid at Absolute Beach Rentals, which is a reputable rental agency here in town. www.absolutebeachrentals.com
For those guests who prefer a B&B, we are recommending the Atlantic Birches Inn, which is a bed and breakfast similar to the Auberge located in the heart of OOB on Portland Ave.
So, while being excited about our new opportunity, I also realize that we may not see some of our favorite guests and friends again. To you, I say a heartfelt THANK YOU for supporting us for the last 16 years!
